“They did not disappoint,” MADD CHICAGO

“This year White Mystery was once again invited back to play the punk and alternative rock heavy Riot Fest.  The hometown heroes were vaulted into the headlining spot on Rebel Stage playing directly in front of highly anticipated sets from the Pixies and The Replacements.  The 300 or so fans who braved the gusting winds and rain waiting for the White siblings to take the stage were treated to an impromptu set from the awesomely weird marching band Environmental Encroachment.  By the time the red head duo took the stage, the crowd was primed and ready for Mystery’s take on post punk infused rock and roll.  The band was a tour-de-force ripping through their repertoire like a blitzkrieg leaving the group I was with floored by the band’s tenacity.  It was a band I highly prompted as a must see at the fest and they did not disappoint.  Upon leaving the grounds, there was very little mumbling about the headlining sets from the aforementioned 80′s alternative stalwarts.  Most of the conversation was about when and where the next time White Mystery were playing.”
