“What White Mystery Has To Say,” Let It Happen Music Blog

This radical and raw album is a great thing to show all those people in your life that think rock ‘n’ roll is dead. This album is arguably more refined than past albums, “Dubble Dragon” or “Telepathic”. I asked the siblings about the differences the new record brings:
Claire: How do you think FYMS contrasts from past albums like “Dubble Dragon” and “Telepathic”?
Alex White: White Mystery “F*ck Your Mouth Shut” is a contemporary punk record that is a product of this exact moment in time. You hear the messages, emotions, and stories that reflect what is going on in the world, society, and our minds right now. This is one of the benefits of releasing a new album every year— that the messages are current and relevant to now. Perhaps one day, FYMS will be viewed as a time capsule.
While the record is more polished, it is still raw and emotionally-rich, the listener can tell that White Mystery cares about the sound they put out.
Claire: What words would you use to describe White Mystery to someone with no idea who you guys are?
Francis White: Subversive, positive, unapologetic.
FYMS is soaked in percussion and mesmerizing guitar riffs, topped with invigorating lyrics, and the duo has been playing together for years, so there is no question why everything is so addictive, they have the science of their sound down.
Claire: Have you and Francis always played music together or were there other projects along the way?
WM: You can hear the earliest “proto-White Mystery” recordings on MySpace, called Forestbride: https://myspace.com/forestbrideforever
The two of us were in a trio called “Trash & Heat” that played quite a few shows before White began, in the early 2000s as well.
Besides that, Francis was in the Nuke Mutes, and Alex in Psychotic Reaction, the Red Lights, Miss Alex White & Chris Playboy, Hot Machines, Headspacer, Miss Alex White & the Red Orchestra.
