Can you believe White Mystery is playing the Taste of Chicago for the SIXTH TIME in 2023? Here’s a few highlights from past years, where we rocked the Illinois Lottery Stage and even danced with the Blackhawks mascot on the Budweiser Stage. See yal on Sunday September 10, 2023 for White Mystery at 6pm at Buckingham Fountain.
Thank you to the sold out crowd of friends, family and fans that celebrated the White Mystery 15th Anniversary at House of Vans in Chicago. It was awesome to have Fred Armisen from Saturday Night Live and Portlandia join us on stage, and to play alongside local talent like Neptunes Core, Roof Dogs, and DJ Jill Hopkins. White Mystery played with Neptune’s Core and MIIRORS along with an all-star cast of cool Chicagoans at the Empty Bottle on March 15, 2022 for the Quiet Pterodactyl Situation Chicago two-day festival. In addition to being a good ol’fashion rock’n’roll celebration, it was super cool hosting Neptune’s Core on stage to to join us for a duet of the White Mystery classic jam, “Birthday.” We remember meeting the Neptune’s Core band members when they were toddlers more than a decade ago, and now they’ve grown up to start a rad sibling band of their own. That is the kind of synchronicity that keeps our band going all of these years.
Shoutout to the awesome Chicago restaurant Good Measure that announced an amazing White Mystery Burger! It comes with curly fries and even has a “mystery sauce.” The special is on the menu until February 12, so get yours now.
It’s not everyday that you survive a global pandemic then get to play an incredible party on the rooftop of a private club downtown. On December 31, 2021, White Mystery brought in 2022 for a select crowd at Soho House Chicago, on Green Street. We’re grateful for the opportunity to perform on NYE, especially given that our last New Year’s Eve show was at the Hideout back in 2019! A good time was had by all. Photos by Azuree Wiitala.
Freakout Fest in Seattle lived up to it’s name as a post-lockdown come back for White Mystery. Miss Alex White and Francis Scott Key White rocked the Eagles Club at Salmon Bay Low in Ballard with an hour-long psychedelic set, complete with lighting by legendary projectionists, Mad Alchemy. The Chicago-based rock’n’roll duo kicked and shredded in custom, bright red snakeskin jumpsuits by West Coast couture shop, Rattleshake.
That’s a wrap! Thank you all for your support in the Hands Off! Comp project. It was an incredible experience working with insane talent from May McDonough of Psychedelic Cherry, LG from Thelma & the Sleaze, and Charlie Kaplan of Tapehead City. All of the proceeds will go towards Girls Inc., a nonprofit organization that empowers future generations of young women.
With the first legal 420 in Illinois falling under a shelter-in-place order, Dispensary33 is bringing together the cannabis community to virtually bring together those who love and have fought for the legalization of the plant so they can tune in from home.
The virtual 420 fest via Twitch will take place on Saturday, April 18th at 4:20pm with personalities from the community creating original content to unite, entertain, and ignite the cannabis community. Each segment will include appearances by local neighbors cooking with cannabis, blowing glass, bending neon, along with DJ sets, drag and performance art. Featuring: Shea Couleé(Rupaul’s Drag Race), Chef Angelina (Top Chef), Sarah Mitchell (Tournant Chi), Lucy Stoole, White Mystery, Sauce and Bread Kitchen (Coop Hot Sauce), Bambi Banks-Couleé, Dom Brown, Kat Sass, Jenae Williams (Tokeativity), Ramona Slick, and Acacia (Glassblower).
