Read More I was impressed with how together these guys are. There’s a plan in action for White Mystery and they’re systematically going about it, tackling the projects that will move them from point A to point B. I gotta say, from my experience, that’s a very non-”indie rock” way to be. To actually anticipating obstacles, lay groundwork or build upon success is considered some kind of blemish on cred in certain quarters. You know? Who wants to be heard outside their close circle of friends, anyway? Seriously. A lot bands actually seem to work to keep their music their own little secret. Not White Mystery. I think nothing short of world domination will suffice. However, the difference from most world-dominators, though, is that White Mystery will do the domination on their own terms. I applaud their ability to recognize open doors and not be afraid to walk thru. That’s what I mean about being together. If you’ve got faith in who you are and the music you make, being heard by many and becoming more well known should not be one of your fears. We didn’t actually address any of this subject on last night’s show but that’s what I walked away with. Well, that and tons more. White Mystery are cool in my book and you can hear the reasons why at the link below. By the way, their mom, Diane White, is the photographer that took the classic shots of that hot night at Comiskey back in 1979…like this one below.
