WHITE MYSTERY DO DIVISION FEST

From Chicagoist:  “Summer festival season is rapidly approaching, and one of the first to hit the streets is Do Division. Now in its fifth year, the street fest will take over ten blocks of Division between Ashland and Leavitt this weekend to celebrate food, drink, and music in a local way.

Much like last year, the fest will feature two stages of live music – one at Damen and the other at Leavitt. Empty Bottle Presents curated the line-up for the Damen stage, which features a handful of notable acts likeBig Freedia & The DivasDengue Fever, and White Mystery. Subterranean selected the line-up of the Leavitt stage, which includes The ShamsCalifornia Wives, andBig Science. Oh, and did we mention cover bands? Led Zeppelin 2 (featuring Bruce Lamont of Yakuza as Robert Plant) performs, as well as This Must Be the Band, a tribute to Talking Heads. Check out the full line-up below.

Along with live music, the fest hosts a sidewalk sale comprised of products from local vendors and boutiques lining the length of the festival. And for the youngsters, Family Fun Fest is just around the corner at Division and Hoyne, hosting various activities for children until 6 p.m. both days.

Admission to the fest is a $5 donation, but be generous – proceeds go to local non-profits, including the West Town Chamber of Commerce, Division Street Committee, and a few neighborhood elementary schools.
