Like a gender-reversed White Stripes minus the studio pizzazz, Illinois’s toussle-head sibling act White Mystery pairs singer-guitarist Alex White’s boozy howl and fuzzy garage-rock guitar to brother Francis Scott Key White’s scrappy drumming with scruffy exuberance. Rising Brooklyn combo Shark? sounds like Adam Green fronting the Pixies after listening to a lot of surf rock on vacation.
