Miss Alex White and Francis Scott White, the fieriest ginger sibling duo since Seth Green and Shirley Manson, are celebrating their 10th studio release this year with Hellion Blender, 10 tracks of buzzing lofi rock and roll with the try-it-all attitude of Ty Segall and the jovial spirit of the B-52s. According to Romanus Records’ label owner and statistician Chris Banta, “Since April 20, 2008, White Mystery self-released 8 records, played 1000 shows on three continents with the likes of Iggy Pop, Garbage, Thee Oh Sees and Patti Smith, modeled for Levi’s Jeans, performed in the Sundance film Station to Station, earned rave reviews from MTV, Vice, NPR Sound Opinions and High Times, jammed on a parade float with Sir Richard Branson and rocked six live songs on the NBC late night TV show, Last Call with Carson Daly.”
Romanus Records has some pretty bitchin’ vinyl variants dropping today, so bend an ear and stretch your F5ers because it might get a bit rowdy. For $20, you can grab the splatter variant, limited to 310 copies, or the tri-color version, limited to only 50 copies. For $70, feast your eyes on the ‘ying & yang” GLOW-IN-THE-DARK sand-filled variant. Seriously, the sand glows in the dark. I can’t even get a decent car battery for $70. HEADS UP. The records go on sale Sunday, July 22 at 3 PM EST. BE THERE.
