“White Mystery kept the vibes high with a killer DJ set,” Collide

Last Thursday, COLLiDE celebrated the latest edition of Travel With Purpose: Chicago with a throw down at the Land and Sea Dept.

This year, recommendations by Chicago bands such as The Life and TimesIn Tall Buildings, and Post Animal  were brought to life in a vibrant illustration by artist/designer Louie Capozzoli.   Chicago artists Dehd and Ajani Jones  treated us to special performances, and Chicago rock n roll siblings White Mystery kept the vibes high with a killer DJ set.

Chef Sarah Russo of Pre Brands created delectable treats such as  Korean Sesame Pulled Chuck Roast, Sesame Sriracha Steak Skewers and Spicy Cabbage and Kimchi Slaw.  Guests washed it all down with Chicago’s own Revolution Brewing,  Topo ChicoDeep Eddy Vodka and Brew Dr. Kombucha, the latter two of which were featured in a mind-blowing slushie concocted by Parson’s beverage director, Charlie Schott.

We hope some love connections were made by event sponsors OkCupid, who not only hooked guests up with all the necessities (overnight tote bags, condoms, lip balm), but also gave early arrivers with OkCupid app gift cards for the brunch to Lonesome Rose (best way to end a date, right?).

And of course, many thanks to our long time friends at Oxfam, who give us the opportunity to give back. Check out the highlights below:
