MISS ALEX WHITE & FRED ARMISEN

Back in 2006, Miss Alex White played in a band called Hot Machines. Hot Machines was a power trio with Matt Williams and Jered Gummere of the Ponys, and they were the “first ever band to play Pitchfork Festival,” because they literally were the first band on the schedule of the first ever Pitchfork in Chicago.

Comedian Fred Armisen was present, and became pals with Miss Alex White. She picked him up from his hotel on Lincoln Park West with her Dad’s Toyota Corolla, and took him on a sight-seeing trip around town. From the picture above, you can see that she even introduced Fred to Hot Doug of Hot Doug’s fame in July of 2006.

Little did either of them know, that in 2019, the two would be reunited to jam for 2-hours at Soho House in Chicago, pictured below. The group performed songs by the Clash, Ramones, Devo, and even Prince.

Birds of a feather flock together, so put a bird on it.
